Where My Unique Visual System Came From✏️📖

Growing up in Madinah, hearing the Imams of Masjid An-Nabawi, I was obsessed with beautiful recitations — just like most people. I dreamed that one day I’d be able to recite like them.
But here’s what I didn’t realise: reciting beautifully is not random, and it’s not only for the “gifted.”
I wasn’t gifted. I had dyslexia, though I only discovered it during my second degree. I know what it feels like to want something deeply but not reach it despite doing everything you can.

From Struggle to Imam👶🕌

🏆By 15, I had already become an Imam.
🏆I trained under the Imam of Masjid Quba Seikh Eesa Ahmed.
🏆I led Tarāwīḥ prayers alone for entire months of Ramadan in Madinah and London.
🏆I’ve led Tarāwīḥ alongside Mufti Menk.
🏆VI’ve hosted live Qur’an shows with Mufti Menk.
🏆By Allah’s permission, I was able to inspire thousands with my recitation and, by popular demand, recorded the entire Qur’an and published it on YouTube in 2020.
But where did I start from…

The Struggle📉 Behind the Success🏆

I learned the Qur’an without any method.
There was no path. My motivation was simply:“Let’s not get beaten up tomorrow.”
I started at the age of just 4. It was a dream of my parents who migrated to Madinah, leaving everything behind.
My teachers didn’t know better, and I spent endless hours repeating verses without much progress. I remember reading pages and pages of Arabic cluelessly.

My parents tried one, two, three, four …endless numbers of teachers until they found the one with whom I finished my Quran. But even then, no structure, no tangible progress, but they didn’t give up.
My dad, to this day, recites the Quran with mistakes; however, he was so critical and technical that he would play a classic recitation on a tape recorder and play it multiple times and ask me to repeat after the reciter until I imitated the reciter 100%. His sincerity somehow got me to the end.Imagine this, it took me five long years to memorise the first 100 pages of Qur’an… but just 40 days to memorise the last 100. It wasn’t a coincidence!

At the age of 17, I finished my Quran, and I was knighted by the Prince of Madinah in Masjid al-Nabawi.
When I started teaching at 17, I was in high demand. At one point, I was teaching 70+ students a day across four countries — including two classes in Masjid An-Nabawi.
4 years later, I was awarded as one of the best teachers in Madinah.
During my free time at night, I taught local kids in our living room. My house turned into a tuition centre.
During my 5th year of teaching, I flew to London and started teaching to a completely new audience.

The Turning Point: COVID-19🦠

Then COVID happened, and the world went online.
I began sharing bite-sized Qur’an lessons online — using drawings and visuals to simplify Tajwīd. Within months, I gained 500,000+ followers across my TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube and realised there was a huge demand for something new.

What if:
You can’t go to a masjid to learn?
You can’t find a qualified teacher who can communicate to you in English?
You don’t fit the traditional mould?
You don’t have hours and hours to sit in classes?
You keep forgetting the rules?
The answer is something outside the box?
What you really need is a NEW, unique Visual Method!

I wasn’t satisfied teaching traditional books that didn’t work for most students.
I never liked sticking to the curriculum. I realised while I was focused on teaching, the institute would be busy overloading me with tasks to appear good in front of the clients. Some of the best and most famous Madrasas in London were filled with 37 kids in one class, with just one teacher!

Reinventing How Tajweed Is Taught📗3️⃣

Correcting my students' minor mistakes (Tajweed mistakes) for 16+ hours a day wasn’t sustainable. I needed a better system that worked and predicted results in less time, for anyone.
So I created a visual/practical Tajwīd course that required no books or Arabic terminology.
Why it worked:
✅ Each chapter was taught multiple times, one rule at a time.
✅ Students only learned rules relevant to the chapter — no overwhelm.
✅ Lessons were short, visual and recorded for easy review.
✅ You can watch the same lesson again & again, you will not miss anything.
✅ Rules were visualised with colours and diagrams.
✅ I became a coach instead of a lecturer.
And here’s the secret: this is exactly how the Qur'an was traditionally passed down — simple, clear, practical teaching.

The Bigger Problem: Weak Reading Foundation📘1️⃣

❌ I noticed a bigger issue when I was teaching my studies, Tajweed:
❌ Most students couldn’t read accurately because they couldn’t spell Qur’anic words.
❌ Many read from memory or guessed. Their foundations were missing.
So I created Qawāʿid 9 — a beginner’s spelling course.

What I Found Wrong with Traditional Qawāʿid ❌🫤

⚠️Designed for Arab speakers
⚠️Built for academically strong students
⚠️One-size-fits-all approach
⚠️Students often don’t know why they’re reading something a certain way
⚠️Most Tajwīd rules are neglected when a student is learning the basics.

How I Fixed It ✅😇

I stripped everything back and rebuilt it:
✅ 9 essential rules to spell and read any Qur’anic word.
✅ A layered, structured approach (simple to complex).
✅ Focus on mastery, not just coverage.
✅ Integrated pronunciation to prevent Tajwīd mistakes later.

This system worked!

The Secret to Quran mastery 🪄📖.

Here’s what most don’t realise:
✅ Qur’anic words are highly repetitive
✅ Very few words appear only once
If you master a small portion, you can duplicate your skills across the entire Qur’an.
You don’t need to know the entire Qur’an to start reciting fluently.

The Missing Link: Qirā’ah Essentials 📕2️⃣

After Qawāʿid 9, students still struggled to transition from spelling to fluent recitation.
That’s why I created the Bridge of Qirā’ah — a step that teaches how letters merge, disappear, or change when reciting fluently.
I added 2 extra rules to ensure a smooth transition into confident reading.
Without this, you can be an expert at spelling words of the Quran, but you will struggle to make sense of words that don’t follow the 9 spelling rules.

The Complete System 📚

My method is now a 3-step system:
📘1️⃣ Qawāʿid 9 – Build spelling and decoding skills.
📕2️⃣ Qirā’ah Essentials – Master the reading.
📗3️⃣ Applied Tajwīd– Perfect your recitation.
With this system, you’ll have the key to unlock any page of the Qur’an.
